Principal for Almost a Day
Save the Date for Principal for Almost a Day on Tuesday, October 22, 2019!
Many of us have not walked the halls of a school for some time, much less raised our hand in class to ask a question. Yet we are frequently asked to make decisions that impact our local schools. Founded 18 years ago, Principal for Almost a Day (PFAD) provides community leaders with an opportunity to shadow a principal to learn more about the opportunities that exist in schools throughout Multnomah County. From the “morning bell” through school lunch, PFAD participants are welcomed as honorary principals spending time gaining a first-hand experience by interacting with students, faculty, teachers and parents. PFAD is one of the ways All Hands Raised works with partners to develop a deeper understanding of how to support our students and our schools and improve collective practices that influence sustained improvements in educational outcomes for all children and youth in Multnomah County.
Thank you to all who plan to attend this year! We understand what a significant commitment of time your participation requires and want to acknowledge the tremendous impact it has on our community. As shared by one principal, “PFAD is a great opportunity to build relationships and solidify how important it is to work together to create authentic support for public education.”
