Party with a Purpose Sparkles and Shines
On Wednesday, March 14, 2018 nearly 800 community leaders packed the floor of the Moda Center to celebrate the shared work of All Hands Raised at the 23rd annual Party with a Purpose presented by Bank of America.
Under the leadership of our Event Committee, along with the support of our Board of Directors, we exceeded all expectations. Highlights included:
- Edna Vazquez galvanizing the room with her opening musical number, and Master of Ceremonies Courtenay Hameister kicking off the program with a rousing “Story of that one time …” recognizing our event sponsors of $10,000 and above.
- Trever Cartwright, our Board Chair together with long-time friend of All Hands Raised, Karis Stoudamire-Phillips sharing the profound impact of their Principal for Almost a Day experiences; and Karis, mother of two young sons, driving home the importance of our work by sharing her very personal experience with implicit bias in school discipline.
- Cristela Alonzo, with her infectious smile and spot-on comedy, providing the laughter we all needed. And, sharing her personal connection to the work of All Hands Raised.
- A very packed, disco-ball illuminated room filled with guests sipping the signature cocktail during the FLIR reception and soaking up the Blazer’s winning streak on the floor of the Moda Center.
