Together Draws Over 725 For Love and Laughs

On Wednesday, February 22, 2017, over 725 guests packed the floor of the Moda Center to celebrate our shared work and impact of All Hands Raised at “Together” presented by Bank of America. Together, the room raised more than $570,000 to support the work of All Hands Raised to ensure the success of all Multnomah County children, youth and young adults.
Storm Large kicked off the show with her powerful voice and magnetic spirit; Scott Poole expounded on the event’s premiere sponsors with his poem “Ode to a Freshman,” Board Chair Jennifer Messenger Heilbronner eloquently brought the All Hands Raised mission to the forefront; Dan Ryan humbly shared our work and its impact in words and through this mini documentary; Courtenay Hamesiter graced the stage as Master of Ceremonies; and Hasan Minaj of “The Daily Show” had the crowd silenced with the exception of thunderous laughs.
The whole definitely was greater than the sum of its parts. Special thanks to all of the organizations and individuals who sponsored the event, including Presenting Sponsor Bank of America, Entertainment Sponsor the Portland Trail Blazers and Reception Sponsor FLIR Systems, Inc.

All Hands Raised brings together six Multnomah County school districts with leaders from the county, the city, nonprofits, higher education and businesses to work together, in new ways,
to improve educational outcomes for all of our children and youth—from birth to career. Because we know that learning doesn’t begin and end in the classroom – transforming children into educated, independent adults is the job of the entire community.
